FAQ's
-What is Family of God Christian fellowship all about? FOGCF is a bible-based Christian fellowship dedicated to evangelizing the sinner, edifying the saint and furthering individual relationships, both with our Lord and each other.
- What makes it different than other Churches? Our church truly demonstrates familial love to members and newcomers alike. It is often said we are small in number but big on love. If you are a believer, that is to say if you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior and know Him to be the Son of the Living God then you too are part, by inheritance, of the ‘Family of God’. As such, we will embrace you as family and welcome you home.
-Why should I attend? Well maybe not everyone should…. If you are a pew warmer, that is, if you want to sit in the back corner unnoticed or you don’t want to move into true relationship with God, or to be challenged to grow in your faith, this may not be the fellowship for you. As a believer, a person that is new to the faith or even the undecided, this fellowship will challenge you to learn about the love of God. It will help you grow and mature in your walk with the Lord and help you to better understand that Christianity is more about an ongoing relationship than it is about rites and rituals. Our pastor and elders teach straight from the Bible and will encourage you to check out for yourself ANY statement they make about Jesus, his life and ministry and what the bible says about how we are to live. “Be a Berean” is one of our Pastors favorite sayings.
- What kind of preaching is it. It’s more teaching than preaching. In other words, we don’t have a fire and brimstone preacher standing in the pulpit with a holier-than-thou attitude. We have a true pastor, one who teaches, counsels and encourages by example, edifying the saints of God no matter where you are in your walk with Jesus.
- is the Pastor anointed & is the Spirit Moving in the Church. Yes! Our Pastor and Associate Pastor are both anointed men of God. You will experience this as soon as you speak with either of them.
- Is the Bible taught so that people can understand. Ever hear of “break it down like Im a 6th grader”? Our Pastors explain the Word in such a way that it is not only clear, it is memorable. We are taught the Word of God line by line and precept by precept.
- Is the teaching Relevant to my life today. Absolutely! The Word of God is called the “Living Word” and that is because it is as applicable (relevant) today as it was when it was written. It is truly fascinating to see how Gods word, while unchanging, evolves and that the same principles that were taught to the original disciples are the same principles that we are called to live by today.
-What ministry opportunities are there for someone seeking to be active in the Church? I think that depends on the spiritual gifts the Lord has blessed you with.
- What is the congregation Like I.e.....relaxed or Formal, Friendly or Cliquish, young or old, culture mix etc Relaxed and friendly, diverse in age and culture. We do have one common denominator… we are all children of the Most High God
- What denomination are you. We are not a ‘denomination’ per se, we are all part of the body of Christ. We are Bible believing and teaching Christians. Simply meaning the Word of God is accepted by us as absolute truth and any doctrine that contradicts the word of God is rejected.
